  Hi.

I've been waiting for a good financial app for my mom to replace Microsoft
Money or Quicken for her online banking (meaning that the app would also
have to be capable of paying bills online at regular intervals and things
  like that.

It is also useful for her to sort
and have tight control over payee's (such as rental tenants) and billers. A
utility to graph where money is going and where money is coming from is also
useful. She is also a graphic designer and is concerned with how things
look, and so, it would be nice if the app was themeable to a certain extent.

Just letting you guys know that this looks like a great program and seems to
be moving along well, good job. But I had a couple suggestions, so I thought
I'd drop you a line. A good financial program is the *only* thing keeping
her in Windows at this point and I would *LOVE* to change that.

Thanks for your time and keep up the good work.
  Best,
  Jon Webb

  Darin,

Thanks for your reply. What I meant about tight control over payees and
people who send in bills is that she needs to be able to assign categories
to each transaction. IE: A transaction shows up from the credit card for the
gas station and you add it to the Automotoive category and maybe the sub
category gas, or which car it was, etc. Also for money coming in, add to
the category "rent" etc. Then most importantly, you need to be able to get
overall statistics from all accounts. To do this, you can maybe have a
financial record containing all the accounts for one user and have tools to
show overall statistics based on the categories. This also allows for tax
tracking, allowing for notes of what was business expenses, etc.. These are
  generally called "reports".

  Anyway, Thanks for your time.
  - Jon

  - sorry this isn't being put in the appropriate forum;
just joined source forge, have yet to be confirmed, and know
I'll forget to do this by tomorrow...

The request is simple in concept:
  Foreign currency accounts-
If an account is tagged as being in a foreign currency then
any transfer transactions to accounts of a different
  currency
will also have an extra 'rate' field- the current exchange
  rate.

AFAIK no personal finance software does this, and as an
expat preparing to move to my third country, I REALLY wish
someone would add such a feature!

Cheers, good luck, and your efforts are appreciated by the
  masses :-)

  Julian

The order of the tabs for different accounts can't be set. It would be nice, if
one can drag'n'drop them fore- and backwards. Or at least with a "Prev" and
  "Next" button somewhere.
