Installation Of Wmufo
---------------------

+ Root installation
1) su -
2) cd /current/directory/of/wmufo
3) ./configure
EITHER
4A) make install-strip
OR
4B) make
4B) strip src/wmseti
4B) cp src/wmseti /usr/local/bin/

+ User installation
1) ./configure
2) make
3) strip src/wmseti
4) cp src/wmseti ~/bin

+ Notes

If you wish to compile with an old style fifties spinning saucer instead of
the default organic saucer use:

./configure --enable-ufoclassic

+ Notes
If you have changed the setiathome program name you will need to specify the
program at the configure stage to allow status checking of the client. For
example, "setiathome" is now called "foo" then add the following;

./configure --with-setiathome=foo

Checking against the "setiprg" value the configuration is not done as some
people run other programs like tkseti from wmseti.

+ Notes
To optimise wmufo for running on anything newer than a Pentium 2 type this
on the command line before running configure;

export CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686"

+ Notes
If you wish to compile with (non-working) session management;

./configure --enable-session

	=	=	=	=	=	=	=	=	=

Please note that I cannot get session management to work properly. It uses
the same session management code as GKrellM so should work...

I get two scenarios depending if I create windows before registering session
or vice versa;

1) The SM_CLIENT_ID isn't set and when logging out Metacity complains that
the dock is not a session managed app, while the session manager doesn't
seem to setup the restart commands with the old session ID.

2) The SM_CLIENT_ID is set, but the dock doesn't register with the session
manager and causes the session manager to "hang" waiting for the dock to
register for two minutes. This prevents logging out for those two minutes.

Answers on a postcard.
